“As purchaser you’re working with all departments ”

For Melvin Müller it’s the challenge to buy bearings at the best possible price and condition. “The diversity also makes my job very enjoyable. As a purchaser you’re working together with all departments in the company.”

Playing football with friends
Melvin’s motto is the typical Dutch expression: Just act normal, that’s already crazy enough. The purchasing manager is married and is the proud father of two boys. “Their smile when they are telling me story’s….. that can make me not only proud but also emotional.”

“The most important thing in life is that my family is and remains healthy. My biggest hobby would be football. I also play in a team together with friends at Excelsior Maassluis. “

European Cup ’88 together with my dad and grandfather
Football also played a leading role in his most enjoyable trip abroad. “Together with my father and grandfather to the Netherlands vs. England game in 1988 during the European Cup in Germany. The Netherlands became the European Champion that year.”

The vacation he is looking forward to is a family trip to the United States of America. “That trip is definitely planned, all four of us are looking forward to it. However, it is uncertain when that will be possible, especially now due to Corona.”

I would like to learn how to golf or play the drums
If he could have a do-over: “I would continue to learn. I didn’t take school very seriously at the time.” And when it comes to learning something new, it’s playing golf. Or drumming. I would like to be able to do that as well. They always look so cool at a concert!”

A weekend with a little bit of everything
The way to start the day is with a cup of coffee. “In the garden while enjoying the sun.”

His ideal weekend has a little bit of everything: “Watching a movie together with the whole family on a Friday evening while drinking a gin and tonic. On Saturday watching my son Dex play football before I play a football match myself. And on Sunday a day out with the family.”
