“Travel unlocks something in me that I can’t quite put into words.”
Taking my time in the morning is sacred. A shower, a little scrolling and only then I’m ready to start the day.
For most people, mornings are just a routine but for me they’re more like a slow ritual. When the alarm goes off I’m anything but cheerful, especially if it’s early. I usually hit the snooze button a few times to ease into the day although I have to be careful not to accidentally turn it off. Ideally I like to wake up gently, maybe by checking my phone or playing a quick game. Then I hop into the shower to feel fresh and alert. After that I prep my food for work and only then does the day truly begin. On my days off I often skip breakfast and prefer a late brunch, usually with a freshly cooked egg.
Sleeping is definitely one of my guilty pleasures. I can sleep just about anywhere and anytime. If I get the chance I’ll happily stay in bed until late. Once a month I sleep 12 to 14 hours straight without a problem. Wake me up in the middle of the night? Please don’t, unless it’s for an amazing trip. For that I’m willing to make an exception.
South Africa stole my heart. The nature, the people, everything.
Travel moves me deeply. In 2016 I went on a three-week family trip through South Africa that left a lasting impression. We explored the country, visited Kruger Park and saw the most stunning wild animals. The nature, the people and the culture all made a deep impact on me. If I could live anywhere for a month it would undoubtedly be there.
Outside of work and travel, football has always been a passion of mine. In my previous job with irregular hours it was hard to keep up with training and matches. Now with more structure in my current role I can finally rejoin regular practices and Saturday games. I also really enjoy spending time with friends and their children. Being with the people closest to me always gives me energy.
After just two weeks I could already tell the atmosphere here is really good.
I recently started working at World Bearing Trade as an Export Assistant. My tasks include preparing quotes for international customers. Once approved I convert them into sales orders. I also process regular customer orders and keep an eye on webshop sales. What I really enjoy about this role is that I can make a difference for the customer. Turning a quote into an actual order gives me real satisfaction. Even though I’ve only been here for a short time I can already feel that the team spirit is great and that’s something I truly value.
I’m someone who shares openly. Some colleagues may already know this, others will discover it over time. I’m the type of person you can always talk to whether it’s about work or personal matters. I’ll listen without judgment and always in confidence. That sense of trust is important to me. It’s part of who I am.
And after a long day at work? I love curling up on the couch for a good series. Vikings and The Last Kingdom are top favorites. Epic stories with strong characters. Movies often feel too long and books… well, I don’t really have the patience for them. Just give me one episode. Or two. Or three.
